If you have already taken admission to IGNOU University in the selected programme and want to make changes in your medium of instruction, programme or elective/course, you can do so by following the procedure given below. However, you must note that it is permitted only within 30 days from the receipt of the first set of course material.

How to Change the IGNOU Programme

For Bachelor’s Degree Courses, you can change your programme from BA to BCom/BTS/BSW or vice-versa or BCom to BA/BTS/BSW or vice-versa or BSc to BA/BCom/BTS/BSW. However, no change is permitted from BA/BCom /BTS/BSW to BSc.

For Master Degree Courses, you can change your programme only in the first year of study.

To change your programme, you have to apply through the Regional Director of the concerned Regional Centre and pay the required fees. The fees are as follows:

• Rs.600 plus Rs.350 per 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs.700 per 6 or 8 credit courses for Bachelor’s Degree Courses.
• Full programme fees for Master Degree Courses.

The payment should be made by Demand Draft in favour of IGNOU payable at the place of the concerned Regional Centre.

How to Change IGNOU Subject or Elective

If you want to change any subject or elective in the admitted programme, you have to make a request within 30 days from the receipt of the first set of IGNOU Study Material. You have to address this request only to the concerned Regional Centre and pay the following fees:

• Rs.350 per 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs.700 per 6 or 8 credit courses for undergraduate courses.
• Rs.600 per 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs.1200 per 6 or 8 credit courses for Master Degree Courses.

The payment mode is Demand Draft in favour of IGNOU payable at the place of the concerned IGNOU Regional Centre.

How to Change IGNOU Medium

You can change your medium of instruction only within 30 days from the first lot of study materials and only in the first year. To change your medium, you have to pay the following fees:

• Rs.350 plus Rs.350 per 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs.700 per 6 or 8 credit courses for undergraduate courses.
• Rs.350 plus Rs.600 per 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs.1200 per 6 or 8 credit courses for Master Degree Courses.

You should make such request to the concerned Regional Centre only and pay by Demand Draft in favour of IGNOU payable at the place of concerned IGNOU Regional centre.
